What a weekend!!! Honeysuckle Cottage was invited to attend a wonderful event at Walgett. A Bi-annual Quilting Hanging. My darling and I spent lots of hours packing kits and gathering lots of goodies to take out to a terrific group of stitchers. We jumped out of bed at 3.30am on Sunday morning, quick shower, breakfast and of course, a latte. On the road by 4.15am. We had the car all packed with precious stitching cargo and off we went. (Oh, for those of you who are wondering what we did with our children, they have been camping all week with their Nan and Gran).
Four and a half hours later, after I had slept a little, dodge many kangaroos, a possum, and echidna and a lizard, we arrived at Walgett. Walgett has a population of about 2300. They have a wonderful quilting group who are very busy. There was a surprising amount of quilts hanging at the most gorgeous home of one of its' members, thank you Coleen.
So, here are some of the creations at the Walgett Quilt Hanging.
There were sooo many quilts. This is just a taste for you. I will add more over the coming weeks.
The weekend was wonderful, and my hosts were fabulous. Thanks for the invitation ladies. See you at your next showing.
